Alessi “combine functional design with extraordinary aesthetics, often making people smile in the process”, according to Business Week magazine. Alessi has produced some of the most iconic products in the field of houseware design. Alberto Alessi, the managing director of his family's company, represents the third generation of the family to run the company. One of his first projects when he joined in 1970 was to overhaul the company's corporate identity. He has since been instrumental in collaborating with key figures in the design world including Richard Sapper, Ettore Sottsass, Aldo Rossi and Michael Graves.
